What type of air filter do you use when replacing the old one.

One thing I can understand is why people replace their old airfilters with another stock one. I went out and brought a airfilter called unifilter, this is a form pad and you cut it to fit your needs. It lets more air in and dosnt need to be replaced as much.

Go to your local bike shop and ask about it, it shouldnt be dare and they should be able to get it for you. Works areal treat!

    air filter?

    about this air filter thing,
i took my air filter out the other day and fark it's dirty,

belted the crap out of it but it needs replacing.
firstly, i am surprised to find out that its a card filter (first time owning a road bike, i assumed all bikes used a pod)
does anyone know if you can order new filters?
    or this unifilter idea?
what exactly do you mean "cut to fit"?

secondly, why does yamaha have the two air intakes from the front going into the airbox, and then these intakes stop before the airbox, which is a sealed airbox anyway! i am very confused as to how the FZR gets fresh cool clean air when the airbox appears to be completely sealed,(although i only had a quick look at it.) i thought that i could modify it and put a few breather holes in it, to test this i started that bike without the top of the box on, the bike would only rev to about 7000rpm!
i understand the basics of mechanics, but i cannot understand why the FZR performs worse, when it is fed MORE air!

anyway, if someone can help in regards to the air filter i will be forever thankful.
