So after a lot of beer, chocolate and youtube videos... I finally got around to putting something together... albeit just a trial fit on my sisters bike. After I build my 907cc gixxer engine which I got the head and barrels fresh from the machine shop, I'll be keen on finally building the cibbie engines and finally clean up the garage!

Awesome, that Gixxer should be a fun build

What sort of gains are to be had with the MC22 headers and the FCR's ?

    Cheers.

The carbs should give 10~15%. The pipes should flow really well... but I'm not sure what sort of gains would be there. The head really needs to be ported to make the most of it. Then should be making some sweet power.

The carbs really need a tune though. Mad flatspot at 10k rpm

I shouldn't ask, but how much were they ? and where did you source them from ?

Was about 1.5k for the carbs and other bits, sourced from WEbike and Bito R&D in Japan.

The zorst was about 1k also from Japan. Special order from motogear as I added a wideband bung

Just put it up against my brothers mc19 that we rebuilt. Only has a straight through can but runs really well...

Chopped him hard LOL gave him a head start and still flogged him. These carbs are thee ****! It now does power wheelies in first haha To my knowledge, cibbies could never do that lol.

I rekon those pretty mesh stacks are holding it back though. Its running quite rich... so I plan to use the standard open funnels tomorrow after I hook up my wideband... then I can start looking into ordering jets. Bloody flies now. pretty happy [IMG]

Oh yeah... power wheelies in first on stock gearing too.

I wouldn't be surprised if its making more than +50hp... and thats on a shitty tune

Should do a dyno day with my bros mc19 and a few other mc22 friends.

My next challenge will be keeping up with my mate on his cbr400.

If you think its running lean, it will actually be making more power but you stand a chance to overheat the engine and start melting the pistons. Lean is mean.

A "Perfect" air to fuel ratio is 14.7:1 - all fuel is burned with no emissions. But what we end up with in reality is around 12:1 or 13:1. Aim for that across the entire rev range and you're golden.

I actually had a really hard time getting a dyno done. Pretty much the only person I could find that would even bother dynoing a cbr250rr was "Sydney Dyno" down in gosford, but he charges 130$.
    Its a good dyno.
I got 40hp if thats any reference point.

If I wasn't busy posting an exhaust, I'd be tinkering with my wideband right now >.<

Linkin, its not the first time I have mucked with it. You can go as rich as 10 if I so wanted, but 12~13-ish is probably my target. More fuel doesn't mean more power, however it can sometimes mean cooler exhaust temps and more advanced ignition timing.

Damus, where do you ride? Happy to show you its chopping ability.

40hp is pretty weak >.< you must have the restricted cbr250RRR

I live in parramatta area (telopea).
I don't really go on joy rides anymore because I ride to work every day and that usually gets it out of my system.
It's a 1991 L model. The 45ps was measured at the crank. I imagine 40hp at the wheel isn't far off what it's meant to be I don't think.
If you really are getting 50hp I'd be happy to copy your mods =p hahaha.

eep. I know of plenty of people with standard 91 engines making about 48hp at the rear wheel. Yours must be dead stock or is not very healthy.

you cant copy my mods though... you need deep pockets and willing to get your hands dirty haha
