I picked this one up for $280 not running, cleaned the carbies, battery and a bunch of other tedious things.. long story short she runs.
I'm looking to do a cafe racer conversion while still being able to ride it

    Any tips and help appreciated.
Excuse the quality of the photos/space

One word of advice, save yourself a tuning nightmare and leave the airbox on it!

@Huntsman I've heard about the pain of tuning, I was considering it but if I do I might take it to a professional to do that.
and @GreyImport I was using it to travel between school before the stator/speedo broke besides that nothing is wrong with it

    (Warning; the following is satire.)
To convert a standard bike to a 'café racer' style takes a great deal of thought and planning. You start with a bike that is reliable, runs well and rides nice with a comfortable riding position that you could ride all day. You then change the comfy seat for a piece of fiberglass covered in vynal, take off the handle bars and fit some little short bits of pipe as low as possible so that your back is bent over and your neck is bent the wrong way, fit footpegs so high that your knees will never work properly again, throw away important bits that the factory spent millions $ perfecting (you know better than them, and you saw it on utube) so the engine will lose half its power and never run cleanly again, a loud pipe with no baffles so the cops can tell where you are, no air cleaners so the engine will suck in dust and die soon and a huge petrol tank to lean on when your wrists give out from the low bars.
So, basicly we take a nice standard bike that will be a pleasure to ride to an uncomfortable/unreliable piece of crap that you will not be able to ride further than the local coffee shop without having to have medical help to get off. Don't bother filling that big tank because the engine will die/breakdown or you will give up before its empty. :lolsign:

Seriously, it is your bike to do with what you want and I hope you enjoy the experience and knowledge you will gain on the journey to creating your ultimate bike.

This was written as humour, not an 'angry old man rant'. If I were to do that IT WOULD BE IN CAPITALS!!!!!. :lolsign:
Just trying to put some fun into an otherwise painful day for me.

Sorry I'm late, progress is slow with school exams.
I've just had the electrics rewired, mudguard painted and a new stator ordered.
I may repaint the tank if I can find the primer.
