The blue zxr 250 has been fighting us all the way. Having said that, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Getting the brakes sorted, an oil leak fixed and I think she should be pretty close. As Chris mentioned, the engine sounds great after trying out multiple sets of carbs, we finally hit the jackpot!!!! The bike looks great and runs really well. Pretty pleased.
So after a bit more playing the brakes are finally done, I had bought a brake seal kit for another ZXR250 I have, but because the brakes were shot on bluey, we fitted these seals. First go and it didn't work and only one piston as moving and the other seemed too tight, stripped them again, refitted the seals and she came up trumps. I also had an exhaust leak between he headers and he pipe so I fitted new headers and a genuine ZXr250 exhaust, looks sweet now All that is left is some minor reassembly of body work, fit new grips ( as the throttle grip keeps slipping) and I think its done, big thanks to Phil for helping out. I'm super pleased how its come up. I need to save some pennies and get a RWC and registration now and get it on the road
it seems like these bike would fade away into the past if it were not for you guys re-birthing these bikes, nice work
Wow, starts off with one bike you werent even looking at buying, to 4. Wow. Whats the plan with the other 3? build one more & sell it off to recoup some monay? (Also get back in the good books with the better half?) or put together & race, or just have as spares?
