Help Any idea what's in my fuel??

    Hi all,
    My partner bought me a Suzuki Across a few weeks back and we have been having a lot of problems with it due to fuel/carby issues. He has pulled it apart a number of times and got it running sweet again, till I go to start it the next day..
    We thought we had removed all the crap out of the fuel but turns out we are wrong!
    Does anyone know what this could be?
    It's a red liquid when it totally settles, photo was taken just after I poured it into the bucket.

    Looks like rusty water. Try draining and flushing the tank and then put some metho in the tank. Do you have a fuel filter?

    I would remove the tap as that thing sticking up is an internal filter

    Having just removed one off an Across tank about 4 days ago.....I say,go for it.
    The one I removed was filthy, could be the only way to get clean fuel into your carbs.
    You'll need a 10 or 12mil spanner....the unit I was dismantling came straight out.

    Thanks for your replies, we think it might be brake fluid so will take the tank off and try and clean it out, not sure why someone would put brake fluid in a petrol tank but I guess some people aren't that bright :)
