    Hello everyone.
    Are VTR 250 frames interchangeable?
    I've seen some for sale. I'm after a 2007.
    Thanks in anticipation. Bob.

As far as I know they are all the same, from the earliest VTR250 all the up to the last EFI models (yes they do exist)

Thank you for the quick reply. They do have different part numbers, according to a japanese parts site, but that could refer to the colour.

My VTR250 is registered and so far seems all is good. Purchased a legal 2008 frame and over the months changed over all that was good, and replaced or repaired all that was needed. New steering head bearings, fork seals, wheel bearings, front disc and master cylinder, thermo switch on radiator, plastic welding on tailpiece, new bars, amongst other things, you all know the story. Replaced the sprockets with a 15/38 combination, I really like it! All up in parts it didn’t cost much.

They are not all the same :( 1st gen doesn't have the sexy trellis. That does make me wonder if an EFI motor would fit in the 1st gen. Would save me the nightmare of pulling the carbs on mine, and all of the troubleshooting I'll have to go through to see if it will even start. Side covers have evidence from PO not having a clue (looks like they used a nice thick 1/4" bead of RTV when they put the side covers back on.)
