and yes 100% tryna stay clear of the crankcase haha but if that was the problem would it still roll start? honestly besides dim headlights the bike is running perfectly, sometimes i can even get home and press ignition bike will try to start and slowly decrease in effort+noise, highbeam lights and battery lights come on then back to this dreaded tik like shown in the video
You need a new battery http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/how-do-i-test-my-12-volt-battery-and-charging-system.1794/
have had solenoid fail after one use..does solenoid click? if so could still be battery.starter relay and solenoid are the same thing.if starter not turning then take off and test diectly on battery. if starter ok then case could be cracked and idler wheel jammed.
operator problem- not used to trouble shooting. dim light means battery or connections. with light on hit the horn button. test battery under a load tester not a volt meter.
back of headlight is burnt out and entire area has changed colour since last checking it, can anyone help in terms of what effect this would have ? and if this is the cause for my bike not starting. the headlight still works although it does not match the highbeam as the burnt out bulb is blue
even when accelerating at times the lowbeam headlight will dim and flicker is this a direct sign to a short somewhere?
how do i go about this @risky explain it easily please haha just follow headlight earth wiring through loom or would have this blown the relay?
Electricity is lazy. If it can run to ground (frame or engine case) before going through the load (ie headlights), it will, creating a short circuit. There are two types of short circuits, short to ground or an open circuit.
meaning a cut in the wires along headlight ? and electricity going to the ground cable for headlights is that what you mean and would it explain the burnt out headlight assembly
If anything is melted or brittle, it would indicate high resistance or high heat, but usually they both come hand in hand. Could be that the wiring was insufficient (not thick enough) or there was a break and it shorted.
you the man linkin so after i replace earth to back of headlight as thats where it has melted no doubt to my extension on it, how far down the line (or wire) could this have gone? does this one problem have enough potentiall to drain my battery or cause the bike to not start unless being roll started?
