I've been getting clutch slipping lately and I think it's time to change it. Not sure whether to go stock kwaka parts or find something online after market, one that interested me was the Walker clutch kit from NZ. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331210643331?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Any suggestions ?
I tried adjusting everything in every way, not good. Oil is relatively new. What oil would you suggest ?
Not a car oil. The short answer You need one that doesn't mess with the wet clutch so a motorcycle specific oil.
Yea the thing is I bought the bike off a bloke who had already done the oil change service n that. I wanted to do a full service on it and was just going to change the clutch while i had the bike prepped for it. If it does have **** oil in it I'm already ****** coz the residue would still be there. But I may try it with 300V Motul.
No worries, just thought 300v is like top of the line but a bit over the top, not gona race it just yet so 5100 would probably the go, i did use the same stuff for my R15 and it goes ok.
put a few washers behind the clutch springs for now if on a budget... another option is to buy a 250 Balius clutch from Kwakka with new springs, all 5 fibre plates and all 8 steel plates.- will be far more expensive at approx $260 (but you will have it in a day)
big fan of EBC gear, tried and tested and i never had dramas, normally around the same as oem prices maybe a bit cheaper but far better quality.
Ive just bought the walker clutch kit from nz... its actually a repackaged usa brand that specializes in reproduction of vintage bike parts
I have been researching a bit, can't find many reviews on it, but the supplier from NZ looks to be alright. Low postage price is a good incentive too; suppose quick delivery from NZ also.
