    Just bought a ZXR250C 1991 bike. Complete and a runner. All for $650, Bargain. Need a few things, levers air filter etc. Would greatly appreciate your input. Looking forward to getting the bike screaming down the road in the near future.

    Common ZXR issues

    Valve clearances
    Timing chain & tensioner in particular
    Carbs - T-piece o-rings (air side), airbox seals, manifolds/vacuum lines
    Voltage regulators - bolted to the frame under the tank, they get very hot and burn up the plug.

    These bikes are generally reliable but given their age require going over to make sure everything stays reliable.

    Finding rear tyres can be a pain as they are an 18" wheel. Standard size 140/60/18. Dunlop Alpha 14's are the best in this size, and are available for the front as well. 110/70/17.

    General old bike issues

    Any wear item (tyres, brakes, chain/sprockets)
    Steering, wheel, sprocket and swingarm bearings/seals
    Forks - old oil and/or leaking seals / previous owner butchery

    Good luck with the bike, they're a little rocket when all sorted.
