The Honda CB750 Club of Australia is holding a raffle this year. As a member, I have been asked to spread the word and help sell some tickets. The raffle proceeds will go to The Black Dog Institute (see link and overview below).

    https://www.blackdoginstitute.org.au/
“The Black Dog Institute is dedicated to understanding, preventing and treating mental illness. We are about creating a world where mental illness is treated with the same level of concern, immediacy and seriousness as physical illness; where scientists work to discover the causes of illness and new treatments, and where discoveries are immediately put into practice through health services, technology and community education.”

The club and its members have spent the last 2 years building 3 bikes for the raffle; A CB750, a CB500 and a CB350. Pictures of the bikes follow. The raffle winner will pick which bike they want; the second prize winner will pick which bike they want from the remaining two bikes and the 3rd prize winner gets whichever bike is left. Having worked on these bikes, I can guarantee even getting third prize will be worthwhile as the standard of these bikes is showroom or better. I personally would pick the 350, but that’s my taste. The bikes will be on display at the Phillip Island Classic 2019 (next to the Shannon’s stand), the Toora Show & Shine (24th Feb) & the Broadford Bike Bonanza (Easter 2019).

Tickets are $50 each and the raffle will be drawn in November 2019.

PM me if you would like to buy a ticket.

Andy can have the 350, I've got my ticket booked for the 500 (I had a brown one as my first road bike). ;)

Why did people want those stupid high bars???? Even the stock USA bars were too high.
The low bars like on the 500 look much better and I think would be more comfortable too

Long day today. Went down to Yarram for the CB750 Club annual meeting. The club secretary and I drove down as I was too knackered to ride. The club president has the raffle bikes at his motorbike shop, so I had a good chance to look them over. We also spent a bit of time checking for any faults or defects e.g. that bolt has a bit of rust on it etc. Bikes look great and the president (Andrew) has had a board made showing all the members who worked on the bikes or donated services or parts etc (nice touch). I haven't been to the Andrew's bike shop for a couple of years and I'm always amazed at how many bikes and parts he has accumulated over the years. I'm sure he won't mind me posting a few pics for your general knowledge. His shop is called "Pud's for Parts" and it's very well known amongst the CB750 community.

My Favourite of the Raffle bikes...

Workshop. The Kawasaki has a killer engine. I offered to race it in Nostalgia when it's finished. My offer was declined.

It was good to catch up with many of the core members. Bikes will be at Broadford for the Easter races. See you there.

Tickets sales going slower than hoped. The decision to price the tickets wasn't arrived at by the masses. It was more of a senior management decision. $50 seems a lot for some people. Most of us feel $20 and print more tickets would have worked out better for sales and subsequently we'd have more for the Black Dog Institute. I suppose lower ticket sales means better odds to win one of the beautiful bikes. Get in touch if anyone wants to get some more or knows anyone who might be interested.

    Cheers

    Frank
