    Hey Guys,

a couple of weeks ago, an instinctive reaction had me swerve to avoid a Kangaroo on the road near the Dog on the Tuckerbox just out of Gundagai at about 10PM on the Saturday night - I ended up with the car straddling the gully which runs along the side of the road with the car neatly on the drivers side.

I basically went off of the road at 100 or so and kinda sorta sideways, I did try to correct, then did a 3/4 flip and came to a stop in about 6 metres distance - check the photo, the car is facing back directly AT the road and was on it's side before I dragged it back onto it's wheels

Anyway I've since been back a retrieved what was left in the car and now I need to get it's disposal sorted.

Just wondering if there's anyone with any local knowledge that knows the best metal recyclers or auto dismantlers close to Gundagai

There isn't a wrecker in Gundagai, well there is one and I had a chat with the police they reckon he's been closed for some time

There's basically a free car for parts - '99 Subaru Liberty RX, engine and transmission are good 5SP dual range - clutch less than 5K kms old - yep just spent a good amount of time replacing that, and four Impreza rims with good tyres.
The interior and upholstery are also in good condition, very, very comfortable seats

If anyone knows of someone that can make use of it, let me know, it's theirs for the taking, it did have a 12 month old battery but some bugger nicked that and damaged the centre console trying to pinch my stereo

...and yes before anyone says anything - I know you don't swerve for Kangaroos, been told it endlessly in a good humoured manner - reflexes got there first.

I spent at least two of my nine lives on that one... IMG20191110132738.jpg

Well as far as it goes, it is good news, considering the accident - I'm alive - the person that came and fetched me looked at the car and how it was on it's side and just said you're lucky you're not dead - fairly certain that I have broken the middle finger on my left hand - it's still a bit tender but no longer swollen, and that is it

Weirdest thing climbing out of a car on it's side in the pitch black and just going WTF just happened - it took quite some figuring as to how the car ended up pointing back at the road like that

That's a very good idea, I had joined a few forums when I was researching the clutch replacement, but I'm not qualified to post in the for sale sections of those forums.

I'd rather see the good parts go to use for someone that needs them
