My bike is getting on a bit and I had seen somewhere that you should replace the rubber brake lines after about 30K km. I just passed that and was taking a look at some of the braided ones on the market. Good quality brand ones seem to be about $100 from what I have seen.
Has anyone replaced the lines on their bike, any advice?

I have not done it to my current steed, but braking performance will increase significantly. Be sure to flush all the old fluid out of the system, meaning the calipers and the master cylinder.
You'll find the lever pull is firmer and modulation to be much better.

I really recomment doing this upgrade to ANY bike older than about 5 years.
