    I'm thinking of going to my first track day on Monday the 17th April.
    Even though it's a monday it's during my mid semester break <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

    Champion Ride Days are the organisers for this one it'll cost $125.

    So who's interested in joining me?

    I bet I"ll be the slowest down the straights with that damn instability issue <!-- s:mad: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_mad.gif" alt=":mad:" title="Mad" /><!-- s:mad: --> but oh well! <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

    If you have issues with your bike, I wouldn't go. Just me.

    I could, but I don't have $2000 or whatever it is for the deposit (incase you crash their bike).

    It's only above 120+ km/h that it gets shakey, I have pushed it a little passed 140 which was interesting.

    Would it be that much of a problem at Broadford?

    If it get shakey at 74 mph (120 km/h) I'd look at a bent wheel, out of round/out of balance front tire, shot bearings in the wheel or steering head. All of which should be addressed before taking ANY bike to the track.

    I'd suspect either tire balance/wear or steering head bearings.

    you will only get up to a max 140-150 (on the 250 that is!) on the straights at broadford as they're not that long. Still, i'd also be a bit worried with that wobbly issue. The track's not a place where you want ANY issues with the bike, let alone speed related ones.
    having said that i'd encourage you to do the day if you can sort out the bike - had a fine time there on my two days.
    I will be overseas so no go for me.

    I'll get the bike checked out and hopefully will be easily fixed. (and cheapish too <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: --> ) <!-- s:rofl: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":rofl:" title="Rofl" /><!-- s:rofl: -->

    The shake isn't that bad at 120-125km/h but once you get to 140km/h its more like a massive vibrator on steroids. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->

    Where did you get it done? I heard that the only place in Melbourne was Peter Stevens?

    You can buy the wheel bearing direct from Yamaha... and then do them yourself. Balancing the wheels can be done by any bike shop that can fit tyres.

    I got the wheel balance done at Treads'n'Things in Ringwood (right near A1 motorcycles and Bike Mart) for $15 a wheel.
    I had the A1 service centre (which happens to be there too) quote me $25 a wheel + extra to check the bearings.

    The wheel bearings were fine so I didn't need to replace them <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

    I should FINALLY have my bike back together tomorrow!!
    I am going to ring Champions Ride Days tomorrow to find out if there are still places and make a booking, and according to the website there are still positions open.

    I guess it's kinda late notice now though, but who still interested/going to go?
    If anyone is going can I borrow a rear preload adjuster?? please?? <!-- s:angel: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_angel.gif" alt=":angel:" title="Angel" /><!-- s:angel: --> <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
    My preload is stuck on 4 at the moment and I have nothing to adjust it with.
