Cam chain breakers - What brands/models do others use? I had a chinese fleabay kit but the poor metal quality caused problems (pin kept bending under load). Interested in getting a good quality tool, most of fleabay looks questionable or comparable to what I had.
EMGO kit from MCAS a few years ago... was $75. After breaking one set of pins I realised that they shouldn't extend so far out of the hollow end where you drive them, so I bought the kit again recently
This the one I have http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Emgo-Cha...s-Steel-Black-Case-Included-Kit-/201338171833
These look alright, a little better than the cheapy $20 one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-T-REX-Chain-Breaker-Tool-3in1-Riveter-Presser-Motorcycle-BMX-Bike-Bicycle/131656552073?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=2&asc=20140106155344&meid=b33a19fa470c4435b37a209eb1720ffe&pid=100005&rk=3&rkt=6&mehot=pp&sd=282420498777 Motion Pro may be the go if you are using it a lot.?
This is the Motion Pro chain breaker/riveter kit $114 inc post for the US http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motion-P...449438?hash=item1ec8b6e99e:g:wAoAAOSwjL5ZNTAU It look's similar to that T Rex breaker/joiner but with a couple of extra piece's, you can buy replacement pin's for about $15 too It mention's it's only for riveting hollow nose pin's I've had a Motion Pro flywheel tool for 10 year's and used it a heap of time's, it still look's like new This one look's like the T Rex one ^ but only $39.99 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Chain-Br...603619?hash=item1c7f773723:g:omYAAOSwvKtY~KrE
Got the "T-Rex". Looks solid, comes with a reasonable manual/explanation as well (http://bit.ly/trx0008 for anyone interested). Should work well.
