Helping a friends son with his VFR400. Been running like crap and stalling often when stopping, then it started dropping a cylinder at about 7,000rpm, so carbs off and on the bench. Fairly clean inside and out, but this Ladies and Gentlemen is why you DO NOT use silicone (of any sort) on carbutettors. Hard to see in this photo but the main jet is 3/4 blocked with goo. The choke jet has goo stuck to it too. This is what a clean bowl with a new seal should look like. All silicone I have ever seen has turned to 'snot' consistancy when soaked in petrol. DO NOT USE IT.
