Can someone please tell me correct float level for 3LN FZR250R. I have made up carb holder as per HOW TO but note that some items say set up so fuel is level with line on carb bowl, and others are saying 10mm above this. HELP PLEASE!!
Hey guys, I am new here, and also having troubles working out what hieght to set the floats/fuel level to. Is it 10.5mm above the line, or on the line? Cheers Peter
Can anyone clarify these issues, i.e. are float height and fuel level the same and what is the correct setting? Just to confuse things even further I've been looking through the FZR250 manual and it seems to give a figure of 17.5mm-19.5mm for fuel level although it's hard to tell where they're measuring from.
O.K. , have been reading up on this. As far as I can make out checking float height and checking fuel levels are two different ways of checking the fuel level in the float bowl. One way,(float height), involves checking the height of the float with a rule,(with the float bowl opened): The other,(fuel level), is to attach a piece of hose to the drain screw and check that the level is in specification: In either case if the level is out of spec it is adjusted by bending the tang. Don't have specs for either of these as yet. (Photos are not of the FZR250).
Have a look at this post too, as it will help set you levels http://fzr250.com/viewtopic.php?t=1487
