Looks like mine are all cracked up. I don't want to wait until one or more start leaking and causing the engine to run lean on one or more pots, so I'm looking to replacing them. (Even one or two would be good.. or any other rubbers that will fit from another bike... maybe)

I'd settle for good 2nd hand ones, as I'm poor and unemployed, but still want to try to keep my fizzer on the road.

I did write to Bat Motorcycles about getting new ones, I even included a stamped addressed envelope, but they just ignored the letter.. which is a little naughty.

I guess that I could seal them using some silicone bathroom sealer, but I'd rather not go down that route.

I'm in the uk, based in Brighton by the way.

So what exactly was the question?? I had the same problem on my 2kr. THink they are more prone to cracking because they are longer than the 3ln ones. I paid 25 dollars each for the 4, so 100 all up..and they looked in practically new condition. Fixed up the flat spots.

I had one of my boy's two strokes carb rubber with a split in it and used the acid cure silastic and it was good after that - it sticks good to rubber provided you give it a rough-up with rough sandpaper.

Certainly cheap to fix that way

What rubbers are we talking about? Some kind of seal like for the float bowls? Or do you mean the intake manifolds that go from the intakes to the carbs?

I have replaced both on my bike, fuel leaks all over the place but it’s all good now. The float bowl ones where only $4 each but the manifolds where $40 each new. I tried to get good second hand ones from the Zeal but they didn’t fit on the 3ln too long and the wrong shape for the carbs.

What kind of bike do you have? I can have a look at my old ones but I think at least 3 of them where rooted, plus now they have been sitting around in the garage for some time now.

I was talking about the manifold rubber and the bike was a yamaha IT200 - The silastic was still good as new when my son sold it about 18 monthes later.

I did repair a holed rubber diaphram in a falcon carb years ago with silastic which ran ok for many years afterwards, so it seems to hold up well to petrol.

From memory it was Dow Corning 723 silastic.

    I have a FZR250 (3 weeks)

Yes, I'm talking about the inlet manifold rubbers... I got a tube of silicone rubber fom the local DIY store for £1.69, so I'll have a go at fixing the cracks with that, until I can source the right parts at the right price.
