Ive just bee looking up the carbtune tool that Ciaran used in his walkthrough (http://www.carbtune.com/), and as nice as buying a new tool would be I figured I's ask if anyone had one (or a smiliar tool) lyng around that they were trying to find a new home for...

Unfortunately most people only buy a carb balancing set if they're seriously interested in bikes (or other 4 cylinder or less vehicles). It's unlikely someone would be wanting to part with one... but by all means ask around. I think the cheapest carb balancing tool i found was just over $100.

I bought one from Motion Pro many years ago for like $40. It's an old Mercury stick type.

yeah, you'd do well to find someone around that you can borrow it off. But I think Koma's right in that you might have a hard time finding someone who wants to part with theirs.

Yeah, I was angling more for the off chance of people getting out of the bike game and looking to sell off their tools. Alternatively, perhaps someone else owning the said tool but being located in close proximity to someone else with a similar tool, looking to turn the common use of one tool into the monetry gain of the other.

I imagine there a few other potential scenairos, none of which make for very entertaining reading.

I love my vacuum gauges. They are one of those long term investments, I say that but mine have paid for them selves already.

Ahhhh...Do what I did; follow the threads here and figure out the tools yah need and then hit Ebay. I just scored a set of guages that will be perfect for the job (item 300010835286) and for a good price.

It is worth watching and waiting a few weeks though.
