Hi guys. so my FZR project has been benched until at least November, but in the mean time i have been given my mates CBR to ride as he has gone to London. Now this thing hadn't run for over a year and was a bit filthy. so I emptied the tank and simply hooked up my little remote tank with some fresh gas and a few moments later she lives. so after a bit of a warm up the thing is running sweet. now when I tried to emptied the tank i found that i couldn't simply open the tap and drain it. all three positions on the tap and nothing comes out. so i pulled the tap off and emptied the tank. I then wrapped my lips firmly around the outlet of the tap and managed to blow back through the tap and it seemed to work fine. but it still wont run out freely. any ideas?

It is a vacuum operated Pet cock, fuel won’t flow unless there is suction which pulls the diaphragm open and allows fuel through

ok guys. so I got my mates CBR running. it starts up fine when cold takes throttle, seems to run pretty well. rode it like a little over a km down the road stopped at the lights, it died, then wouldn't start again. it wasn't even that warm yet. I tried to start it half way on the walk home and it started. the idle was slow to respond to the adjuster and it didn't like taking throttle. any ideas where to start?

Tank breather ... if its blocked , creates a vacuum and stops fuel flowing .... open the cap and see if it helps

yeah opened the cap didn't seem to help. fuel filter was full of gas. is the breather at the very back of the tank? anybody know of a thread detailing the removal of the carbs?
