    Hello guys,

i am from germany and new in this forum.

I have since 1999 till now a FZR250 2KR (black/gold) w/o Exup, but the bike is after a crash since 2000 out of order and i had an open License, so i drove a FZR600 with a Thundercat cup-engine till now.
Now i want to build this cool oldschoolbike to his old performance up.

So, the annoying thing is that i did for 500km before the crash new tires,, chain kit, and full service. All of it i have to replace after ten years, but luckily this bike is not too expensive in abrasion parts.

    Now to my Problems:
    1. I need after this long period of standing a new head steering bearing. The main Problem is, that over Yamaha Europe i dont get parts for this bike. Does anyone know from which model the Headsteering Bearing could fit? To Buy a Bearing that fits, is not a problem after disassambling, but in our shops u only get the parts in sets, and i need the Gasket for the lower bearing tha you cant get apart.

    2. I also need a new clutch and i saw in a scanned parts sheed from this forum that the clutch has 5 (standart-) friction rings and one friction ring with a part number which i dont get here in germany, exluding oversea.

Does anyone knows why is there an other friction ring? Could this special f.ring replaced by one type of the other 5 f.rings?

    Further questions under reserve ;-)

    Greetings from Germany,
i get really thrilled when i think to get this high rev little bitchy bike on the road again ;)

PS: i had applicated an Micron Race from the FZR 600 to the 250 - i can highly recommend that - awesome Sound!!!

Here in Australia, FZRSHREDDER recently had a new set of bearings fitted. He may be able to help you out with a supplier.
I believe that you only need the lower seal, is that correct? Might be worth looking at the TZR250 as some of parts are interchangeable with the FZR250 2KR model

As for the the clutch, I had mine apart (5 years ago) and I do not recall noticing there being one odd plate. Hopefully one of the members may have one in parts and be able to have a look for you.

Good luck with the bike, sounds like an excellent project.

Thx for the tip with the tzr 250 bearing gasket. I'm going to disassambling th bearing an go to any dealer for aftermarketparts. Than i can see which parts compare with mine.
Thr RZ350 i also no european bike, and also rare as the fzr 250.
I will now start these days to change all abrasive parts.
BTW, does anybody know from which model steelflex-brakelines would fit for te single disc FZR?
I also thought about to applicate an EFI to the Engine, but the high rev's could be a problem. Maybe a modified R6 EFI could be the solution...

    Greetings

    Update:

The frictionrings and steelplates are the same from the popular FZR600 Model.
