Hey boys couple of questions 1, is it true bike clutches dont ware much they glaze, i left for work at 6am other day and my clutch slipped in 2nd and 3rd gear reving it out its was an extremely cold day .what do you think it could be clutch ware and tear .**** oil ??????? if clutch is screwed how big a job is it... No 2, what would stop throttle from snapping back apart from lube on cables could something else be stopping it thanks..
First check that you have some freeplay in your clutch lever, otherwise you may not be getting all the pressure available to the plates. Your oil could be a problem with the cold weather too. If all else fails try a grade thinner oil for winter. Like any other clutch, they will wear. There are four things can happen to clutches. 1) they can wear out from regular use. 2) the friction plates can glaze when not broken in properly when new. this requires removing the plates and scuffing lightly with a medium grit sandpaper. 3) the steel plates can warp from overheating. 4) the friction plates can become contaminated from using the wrong type of oil. usually one with a moly or teflon additive.
