    hey all
currently being single, i have the privilege of doing as i please... my best mate, who originally got me on to bikes, is engaged to be married and his fiance is against him getting a bike because "its too dangerous"...

has anyone here been riding for ages and never had an 'off' or do any of you have any further suggestions that my mate can use as ammunition?

    cheers

he doesnt have a bike... he wants one but it doesnt look like hes gonna get one if he cant convince the fiance ... and sadly shes not exactly the type to be exhilarated by a bike ride ... she'd be more scared about falling off and dying

Yeah...I guess its up to him...his gotta do what makes him feel happy...theres no point doing everything in life because the other half wants you to...

He should just lay the smack down and tell the bitch :p. lol just kiddin on the bitch.

But yeah..he needs to tell her why he wants one I guess..and that its his decision. last time I read the majority of motorcycle deaths is from ppl without a license.

You could always tell her and then find out the outcome? I did.. and lost my gal.. but im so glad i bought my bike.. never been more happier in my life. ! You have to live life for yaself as well thats wat i rekon. If she really against it, u cant do much.. but i doubt some1 who loves u that much will break up over a bike.. ?

yeah i think the general consensus is that your mate shold do what the hell he wants. I think in relationships there are some things that need to be comprimised, but bowing down to the every whim of a chick is just not on. Tell your mate to do what he enjoys, maybe he should get his learners first and borrow a bike to see how much he likes it. Bowing down to people (not just chicks) just makes you lose respect in their eyes and they can play you like a fiddle from then on. Next time his his fiancee starts gettin narky about the bike tell him to say to her "I dont see no ring on my finger" - Eddie Murphy, Raw. <!-- s:-? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_Eyecrazy.gif" alt=":-?" title="Eye Crazy" /><!-- s:-? -->

Can't remember if it's Raw or Delirious, but I had the quote, "You got a shoe horn or some ****?" For freakin' ages until I saw it again and cracked up over what the context was...
