Ha, I just realised that this is the rear brake, had a brain fade, you guys are correct in saying that the item pictured is infact the rear master cylinder.

I know a wrecker in Melbourne who has/had a complete fzr 250 race exhaust system with exup delete. It was fitted to a 2KR but might fit 3LN also

Just checked out their website. That looks like a really good idea. It hadnt occurred to me that i could ceramic the ones ive got. They're not in perfect condition but its pretty much just surface rust that i can see. I was pretty keen on the 'factory' look that goes with tig welded stainless pipes. I really should just sort my life out and buy a welder and some stainless and fab up my own. Im a qualified welder so it really is kinda silly for me to get someone else to make em, i just dont have access to a workshop at the moment unfortunately.

Glad you like the bike Romantix. I sent you a PM. Hit me up. Cheers.

On a side note, i hooked everything up and tried to start the bike tonight. Petrol fired out of the inlet hose on the carbs haha. Gutted. I hate finding leaks in a place you werent expecting any to be On the bright side the engine was cranking over fine so starting it should be a piece of piss when i get the leak sorted out hahaha.

Im with ya.

I hate paying someone to do something i rekon i could have a fair crack at myself if i had the gear (and maybe a bit more know how)

First things first, ring that mob in Oz and see if they have an agent or someone they can reccomend in NZ. If you have no luck. Hit the phone book and look for someone who can do it in NZ. Worst comes to worst, take to someone and get them bead blasted and lash out on some good old heat proof VHT and spray away.

i cant get anyone to fab a set for me. everywhere is like.. 'oh no. we couldnt possably...'
ALL I WANT IS SOME BITS OF STAINLESS BENT INTO SHAPE! I'll CUT AND WELD THE DAMN THING MYSELF! lol
exhaust shops suck.

and does anyone think that changing the shape of the pipes would make much pressure diferance, seeing as you can manage that to a fair amount with the exup..
its just iv made a buell style belly can but it needs the exup to be about an inch forward to look right and keep clear of the rear wheel.

(by the way, very nice project. love the usd forks.)

Hahaha, its a bit sad coz nothing really happens Id completely forgotten to hook up the ignition haha so we bypassed it. THEN i worked out id hooked up the fuel tap wrong THEN fuel sprayed everywhere and we had to call it quits so i can fix the leak. Admittedly it was a VERY premature starting attempt but i thought, what the hell i wna see some flames haha. Next time will be much more productive

Deadbirds - If you cut and weld your exup a few inches furthur forward it wont affect your power or tuning. Strictly speaking any changes to a tuned exhaust will affect tuning but lets be honest here, i highly doubt your (or anybody else's) FZR is tuned to the level where minor changes like what you want to do will make a difference. The other part of this argument of course is that the EXUP valve does all the exhaust tuning for you anyway, and in fact the exhaust headers on the FZR's can barely even be described as tuned headers because of the inclusion of the valve.

On a side note, ive decided i am going to make my own stainless headers (i have access to stainless pipe bends) which will include an exup valve (so i dont have to replace my cams ). When theyre complete ill get some pics up and ill let you all know what they cost, as id be happy to make copies for interested parties

Romantix - I got your email. Thanks. Ill reply asap Ive been looking at purchasing the TYGA Performance RGV VJ22 complete rear end and modifying to suit, as ordering a fibreglass RS125 piece will cost me the same price!!! Still up in the air though. We'll see

hmm, not sure what the big fuss is with the Harley parts. Just looks like normal switch gear to me.

Is there a holy grail of switch gear???

Hahaha, nice No fuss aye, theyre just cleaner/newer looking than the originals and were cheap as chips. I workd at a Harley dealership and Buell parts are the cheapest genuine parts you'll ever find... anywhere Plus, because i had new clutch and front brake perch/lever sets i thought an upgrade of the switch blocks was called for.

Im still deciding. I do really love the front fairings on 3LN3 and later models, but i dont know if i want to hide those beautiful forks and all the rest of the cool stuff ive done/got planned. I think im gonna finish everything except the headlights and see what i think.

you are absolutely right about the forks, they are beautiful, did you have them painted? Im considering getting a pair myself, do they slip straight into the 3ln triple clamp? (I dont know if you explained that thoroughly in your previous post)

The whole front end is from a ZXR250. Forks, triples, wheel, brakes, bars, etc. All i had to do was buy new steering bearings that fit the new stem. It was a piece of cake! Probly easiest thing ive done on the whole damn thing haha
