I've been bad and not checking in, my new job has been far too busy! I hear you had another accident! Is this true ? What happened? Tim also said it was just after you had your bike resprayed! What a s*#t!

I did that once on my old TZR250, just picked it up from the repairers after having $3000 worth of work done (van backed into it while parked & knocked it over, luckily he worked for the Salvo's & picked my bike up & left a note under the seat strap apologising and giving his details - most people would just do a runner!). Anyway I rode out of the shop, got down to the end of the street to a T intersection, was a bit excited after not having my bike for 2mths, and went in far too hot, hit powerband about halfway round & lost the backend. I was fine, not a scratch. All I could do was piss myself laughing. The guys from the shop ran outand were like "what the F#@k happened?!" I explained it and also noticed that there was fibreglass dust all over my tyres, so luckily they decided to fix up the damage for free. So theres a leason for you all, make sure after coming out of any sort of mechanic that your tyres aren't covered in crap either oil or dusty stuff!

Anyway Dean, let me know what happened?

Its not so really funny, well i dont find it to be funny..

But basically i have had issues with my bike's oil light coming on now and then..brang it to the mechanic he said he couldnt determine the issue. So about 2-3 weeks ago the oil light kept comin more often.. at times just stayed there for 10mins or so.. so i assume it was just the oil light being faulty. anyhows while i got to work having a smoke.. and checkin my bike like i always do.. i thought i decide to see my oil level.. so i tilted the bike straight up.. and farkin **** myself when i couldnt see my oil level on the side of the bike. so now i gotta put oil in it. stoopid damn oil lights.. but my fault since i should of checked it.

I can match that and will share the stupidity. I have some polar hands. They are sleeves that velcro over the clip-ons. I go to visit a buddy, in the hospital, that trashed his V-Max. Any way I'm getting ready to leave and the bike won't start. Won't turn over, nothing. So, I jump the soleinoid motor spins, but won't start. So, I try to roll start it. Nothing. Called another buddy to come 40 miles to pick me and the scoot up. Of course he drives a full size Chevy pick-up. After we man handle it into the bed and get it all tied down., I'm thinking, just one more try. Reach my hand into the sleeve only to find the kill swtich in the off position. Yeah, did I say anything? Nope. Too pissed off by that time. So, there you go. Don't sweat it.
My concern would be with the mechanic not checking the oil level. I have found out that the oil sending unit on my 1000 is a level sensor, not a pressure sensor.
Okay, back to the show, which is already in progress...

I think that is true with the 250 as well. When my oil starts to get low (but still adequate) when I sit on a upwards hill for about 2 minutes at a set of lights, then take off the light comes on. If I brake or go down hill it goes off immediately. After the first time I see the oil light I know when I get home I put more oil in, because it is a bit low.

Hence the reason not to do long extended wheelies with the FZR line. Oil Starvation.
On a side note: In my defense, #1 I never used to use the kill switch, and #2 the polar hand sleeve thingies go over the handle bars all the way down to the upper triple clamp, so I couldn't see that it was in the off position. Yeah, have a laugh, so am I. What a bonehead I was back then.
