Greetings Rafa!!

Don't worry any the english, we know what you are saying. The 250 is a fine starter bike. A little down on power, but then again, most 250's are. I have nothing to judge this by as I ride a 1000. (I just like hanging out with these nuts)

First things first, RESPECT THE BIKE.

Secondly, I'd be very cautious/careful taking a passenger along until you have some time and milage under your belt. Safty first.

Thirdly, if there is a riders course offered in or by your country, TAKE THE COURSE.

Other than that, enjoy the sport. Hope you have $ because motorcycling ain't cheap.

Oh, and the bike is more than likely much older than 1998. I do not know what year they stopped making the FZR 250, but someone here will know.

Hey RafaelP!

Ok for the first question, I have taken my girlfriend for a few rides, nothing longer than an hour really. She says its not uncomfortable, but not perfect either, her bum and so forth started getting soar after about 40-45 minutes. So for short rides it is perfect, just for longer ones give her a bit of a break!

The top speed according to the speedo is about 180-185 km/h. I just went for a track day at Eastern Creek in Sydney and pulled out a maximum of 170-180km/h on the straight. I took my bike to the limit and didn't have much trouble keeping up with a Honda RVF400, even on the straight (might have been due to the riders lack of skill, but he seemed to be taking it pretty hard too).

Enjoy the bike!

Hey RafaelP!

The only difference through the years is the deltabox and exup
1986-1987-No Deltabox or Exup
1988-Exup
1989-Exup&Deltabox
1990-Projector lights, Deltabox&Exup

They stopped making them before 1998. I dont recomend alot of riding with passengers. It fine for slow riding(60km/h) or on straight roads, passengers find it hard to hang on when ur going around corners at 100km/h. Your top speed should be around 170-180km/h

Welcome to the forum. What the dealer told you was probably the compliance date, or the date which the bike was imported or registered within Venezuela. Many bad dealers will try to pass this off as the date of manufacture. I believe that they stopped making FZR 250's around 1995.

hasta luego! (my Spanish is very rusty)
