Murdo, really funny you should mention trust and letting people in your garage. I went and had a look at a Yamaha xs750 recently, was having a good old yarn with the owner. I notice the rear of a bike poking out of the shed, I can't fully see in. I mention something like "oh do you race out of here" or something, he replies, alright I'll let ya have a look. The son that was there cleaning his car starts chuckling. I'm thinking what's going on here. We get closer to the shed, turn around and bloody hell the shed is FULL of bikes like 15+

A few daytona 675s and street triples, aprilias, a gsxr and vfr, classics and sports bikes everything haha

I must come off as a trustworthy guy bahaha!

    You must Edwardo.
I write down every one who has had a look in my shed so if bikes go missing I know where to start looking. :D
Did you buy the XS? I bought one new in August 1977. Did 150,000Km on it before I sold it to my cousin who did a lot more. Had a few problems along the way but not a bad bike for the time.

Haha good tip! And no unfortunately I didn't, it was reasonably priced and I intended to do a Cafe racer-ish build. I like to think I have skill set to fix and do most things required but the frame had been tampered with more than I like, not the typical cut off the back and stick a hoop on, it had been chopped extensively and welded sub par.

It was one of those ones where if it was just a little but cheaper I would have. I really liked the 3 cylinder uniqueness and character. Oh well, plenty more fish in the sea.

Probably not a good bike to do a cafe on with the flat frame and shaft drive.

Yeah that's what I thought when I saw the drive shaft. Still, a very cool little bike.

Well I was a tad surprised by the responses to locking the steering up.

Am determined to change my ways, just got to remember to do it......

I've never not done it! Just because it's like no extra effort for a bit more security!
