Yeah, let's go!
Entry forms can be filled in on Saturday morning when you arrive. Bikes are scrutineered before racing. Bikes don't need to be registered, just safe to run. Riders can get racing licence at entry time (doesn't matter if your road licence is tempory 'expired').
The old style open wheel car at 3.30 is one of my builds.
The club will be putting on a free Xmas BBQ from 6 to 8 pm on the Saturday night for those who have entered.
Hopefully be there Sunday to see a few of the bikes run ....
Unfortunatly I wont be there Sunday as previous engagement.
Anybody go on the Sunday?
The @Grasshopper and I went ...... bike section was a non event ... 2 street bikes and a Harley drag bike
Cars etc were good though ..... Grasshopper took some pics so maybe he will post them
A well run event ..... pity its not better supported ..... very few spectators
Maybe a couple of FZRs screaming down the runway could be the go next year .......
Unusual to not have more bikes, maybe the rain made then stay at home.
The biggest meeting is the March meeting, so we have four months to get ourselves organised, hint, hint!
A couple of pics....
Attended to drags today in my role as a ANDRA steward. Small bike numbers and some interesting cars in with the street cars.
Honda CR500 and Yamaha 600 burnout.
Kawasaki and Hardly (with no burnout, ha).
1966 Honda S600. Now fitted with 3lt Toyota 2JZ and massive turbo, modified powerglide auto, 9" diff, etc. He runs a 'soft' tune of ONLY 1,000hp at 26lbs of boost as there is not a lot of traction at Gunnedah.
Some more from today.
No ordinary VW. Blown big block Chev, about 3,000hp.
Every Datsun 200B should have 5litres of Ford power up front.
V8 powered Capri and Torana, ho hum (yawn).
Another blown Torana.
Datsun 1200 with supercharged Commodore V6 and turbo Toyota Soarer.
Even some Hotrods. Black '32 Ford with Chev LS2 power, red Chevy with Ford power. Some people can never be happy.
That s600 would have sounded insane.
It sure does, and it is a nice change to all the V8 bangers with open pipes.
It is a really well engineered car too, makes me smiles every time I see it. Runs low 8 sec and 168mph on the 1/4.
Drags at Gunnedah on again, August 15/16 and Nov 31/Oct 1
So how many Tamworthians are going & on what day?
I'll be there both days (camping overnight) with my red shirt on.
Had a blast today, looking forward to going back tomorrow!
Represent! What times?
