This is my how to repair plastics from the Tech Tips section of Rapid Bikes Magazine. Reproduced with RB's permission. Richard
thanks Punch , I had performed repairs in the past using Qbond, but hadnt used a soldering iron to weld the join from the back, I will certainly give it a go next time round. cheers n beers Chris
Hey Punch Sometime back I had asked if anyone knew what was involved in doing plastic repairs, you answered my question, so thanks for sharing that with all Phil
i try to stay upright phil. The only time ive dropped a bike is when im hardly moving. Or trying to wheel my bike somewhere. lol
Same story here, at a standstill and managed to come off, not hurt at all but my Pride to a serious beating. Phil
Thanks It was a good article and I will keep a copy of it safe as I hope to do a project bike as soon as I can get the space. You never know what I will need
I thought this might help too! I used this video as a guide recently when I was doing my plastic welding. About the donor plastic, I just went to the local smash repairer and picked up a car bumper they were throwing out, I have enough donor plastic to make my whole fairings again! ;D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qb_u-KiQRrU#ws http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7g42q1Vm_yY#ws http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GpEBVyJjeg#ws http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlR_0c-DSNM#ws http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2aRQEEIjlc#ws
