    Hey guys,

I got pinched for riding down the left of traffic down the highway this arvo on the m1 south bound just before the gateway merge :( they had 3 motorcycle coppers sitting there and waving the bikes in lol. When asked if I had a lawful reason for riding in an unmarked lane I replied my bike coughed so I was flicking over to reserve and didn't want to conk out in traffic so I thought it was safer to be there ( a total fib)

He said I should have stopped in that instance did what I needed to do then merge back into the traffic. Which begs the question what is a lawful reason for riding in an unmarked lane?

It wasn't so bad $88 fine (which I have saved in not being late for work haha) and 0 demirits. Small miracles....

Also my rego label doesn't say lams and he tried telling me my bike may not be lams approved. I read the lams approval list before purchasing a zxr250 so was stressed something had changed. Obviously when I got home I reread it and all 250cc motorcycles unless stated as not lams eligible (rgv250, nsr250 and the rs250) Fool

You would think a cop on a bike would know wats LAMs and wat isnt

Those LAMs rules are the same here in NSW .... and rego labels arnt even used anymore .... as I think is going to happen in QLD soon
You would think he would have accepted your reason for being in that lane as it makes sense ..... you should contest it , especially if its your first fine.

My thoughts exactly Grey, I would but its not really worth the time off work to go to court and what not for $88 i may have if demerit points were with the fine. however it was a dirty cash grab by the police must have been under their quota.

Is it straight to a court appearance if u 'appeal' ? ...... a long time ago when I got my first speeding fine I sent in a written appeal and got off ..... thats in NSW and way back though :D

NO MONEY THEN FOR THE AEROMACCHI?huntsman, here you can write a letter in and if a free record for 10 years they let you off. only been fine free for that period once in 50 years.down here their quota is 10 fines a shift.. some darlings are zealous and pull you over for a licence check and ask where you been. my answer is ...in bed with a woman and doing better than you.urinates them off.
