Hey guys, bit of a noob question, but my indicators arent flashing, so i figure the relays gone. Trouble is, cant tell from the picture in the manual where it is located?

Also, what sort of relay do i replace it with?

    Cheers

The flasher on my A model is in front of the battery. Not sure what to replace it with. Best bet would be to take it with you and find one as similar as possible.

ANY FLASHER CAN SHOULD WORK OUT OF ANY BIKE. NORMALLY A SMALL ROUND CANISTER WITH 3 PINS.

    Cheers guys.

Strangest thing. My battery shat itself yesterday, so i replace it, and the blinkers start blinking again!

    WTF?

If the battery is too flat, your indicators won't work. Normally your horn and other lights will fail too. I had that problem with Scarlet (CB250RS) and Rosie (KLR650).

You might have had just enough current or voltage to light the indicators and other lights but not enough to trigger the flasher can/relay. Another sign of a dead battery is if the bike is hard to start (sluggish starter motor and/or weak spark).

If it's all working now it may well have been the battery.

If your battery keeps running flat I'd recommend testing your generator/charging circuit. Usually this consists of two main components - a regulator/rectifier and a stator coil.

There are a few threads here about the above tests - I'll see if I can find you a couple of links when I'm at my PC.

If the battery was the problem, have a look at these threads for more info.
