Does anyone know/is anyone able to measure the clearance gap between the handlebar crown and the top of the inner fork tube. I foolishly removed both the forks without taking measurements. To clarify which gap I am refering to it can be found at the bottom of pp7-34 in da FZR400 Service Manual.

The FZR400 manual lists the gap as being 44mm... is ours the same??.

Thanks in advance to any and all replies!

My fork tubes are flush with the triple on the 1000.

Thanks FZRdude. Sounds like I remember.... i think. Leaving the top of the cap/bolt just a smidge above the level i think it was.

'tis my first fork change. Meh. What can really go wrong. Apart from that I'm not sure if I drove the new oil seal down too far (if that's possible)?.

I'm sure common sense will prevail. Now if can only find some.
