If it was me, and I could pick up a replacement fairly easily at a good price , I would replace it.

could be corrosion hole from water jacket. looks like metal mend to me so greys advice is good or you could get it tig welded. look at both costs.

got a new one with the spare engine....any tips
got the raidiator off , hoping i dont have to drop out engine.
Also what is a good silicon sealent for the gasket.
I did notice some small marks from the timing chain on the new rocker cover
    it`s all new to me
    will it matter?

new head gasket and depending on type hylomar or nothing.if only marks and not cracks no problem. silicon is not a be all and end all.

with it being the rocker cover a little automotive blue silicon can be used sparingly. many a motor has been killed with excess silicon strands.

    Hi Ken
Be careful tightening it up ..... theres been alot of snapped and broken ZXR bits here lately!
    Use a tension/torque wrench :thumb_ups:

I USE THE NICKEL BASED NEVER SEIZE AS I CONSIDER IT BETTER WITH ALLOY AND STEEL.
