    Risky's new toy is heading back to Newcastle. A very nice bike and a good pickup.

    Beautiful looking bike.Was never aware that the CBX model range was released in the Bol D'or. I had a Honda 1981 CB 750F in my younger days , should have kept it .Not offence is meant by this , but i wouldn't personally tie the bike down like that , especially where there are full fairing involved.Was shown a very long time ago to tieing the bike down via above the fork brace so the bike can move on the suspension as per normal in transit and less chance of blowing for seals etc.Yep does freak you out when you keep looking in the revision mirror after the first time of tieing it down this way.

    @2valve - I've had a couple of these (CBX750F) over the years, but I never had the Bol D'or version. I was kind of wishing I'd seen it before Risky got to it. They're an odd bike as Honda brought them out when their VF range had problems, so it's really the last hot across the frame four before the V4's took over. Not the most powerful bike, but 92HP was ample.

    I agree with your summation of transporting the bike, but it's Risky's bike so I let him do what he wanted. Those front forks are compressed to the max. Watching him ratchet them down made me feel a little ill.

    @GreyImport - You're naughty.

    Hi Frankster. Yep , loved my CB also that's for sure.Still have pictures of it actually , where taken on the day it was sold off. So much better bike to own than the VF 750 (Red and black model), huge mistake for buying that model, i hated it and quickly sold it and only had around 1500K's on the clock via memory. Yep , the pictures of the bike tied down freaked me out i have to admit , but i usually say nothing so not to offend. But i was unsure of when the picture was taken and put on the forum. If it's today , i hope he gets updated on this post and has a read of it and re-ties the bike down , before that lovely fairing gets damaged.

    I'm sure Risky will let us know how the bike fared on the drive back to Newcastle. He should get there around midnight tonight.

    Hi Frankster. Super looking CBX , i bet you regret selling that one as i do selling my CB. Wonder how Risky went with the long haul drive , have't hear from as yet he still may be asleep after getting home late.Hope he has the day off so he can just sit there and slobber of the new edition to the family , it is one neat looking bike.

    I sold the red one with the gearsack to a guy in Dandenong (Melbourne) who also took a spare frame I had and few other bits. The Red/White/Black bike went to a young man in Perth. He grew up in Brazil and the CBX was sold there as a super bike called a "7 Galo". He always wanted one and was over the moon to find one in such good condition. He bought the bike and all my spares (engines, carbs, plastics etc). I still get emails from him. And, here's some irony, the bike was stolen from his storage cage a week after he got it. Cops found it soon after without any damage (lucky boy). You don't mind selling a bike you're fond of to someone who is going to look after it.

    Hopefully @risky made it home safe and sound. I'm sure he'll post soon.

    @2valve - Post a picture of your CB750F

    all well.i dont do crack and am fussy about the company i keep.no ,the fairings did not crack and the paint needed a touch up there anyway.yes i did check the tiedowns several times and yes the front and rear tyres were also tied with soft rope so no forward or backward movement and the tiedownds were pulled down to prevent any sideways motion.the weather was crap till past halfway home and i was a good boy running on 110 by the gps.still have 150 kms in tank and still a 20 litre jerrycan in boot. fuelled up on edge of melbourne including 90 litres in jerries and top up in a carpark somewhere near goulburn.bike still on trailer but historic rego today.breakfast calls.

    Good to here that all went well Risky and you got home safe and sound. If you don't mind me asking , what's the story behind carrying spare fuel on board ? i'm intrigued !. Cruising at 110 will get you home pretty fast, there are some nice roads down that way last time is was heading that way.Did you travel mostly at night for less traffic or was it just how it was time wise.

    Hi Frankster. Ok buddy you asked for a picture of my mighty CB , here it is a blast from the past !.I was pretty young then , and believe it or not i was still on my P's (displayed them though ) but my full licence was just so close to getting off my P's. I just took it super easy , kept the bike super neat so didn't draw attention in a bad way that to the cops .And the rest is history.Have a lot better pictures of the bike , but cant find them at the moment , may have thrown them out!.

    first ,i run on the gps as that gives a more accurate speed.re taking jerrrycans is about cost savings on fuel costs and filling up when the tank gets down to redlight on.if i can sace 10 bucks i will. fuel in melbourne is 10 cents a litre cheaper than here but is over 20 cents cheaper than goulburn where i would have to refuel. a dollar saved is one you do not have to work for.
