Yesterday I was coming home along Clayton Road yesterday when a deep purple fzr250 rode up beside me. Just wondering if it was anyone here? I am sure I recognised the bike, though I know there are multiple purple fzr's out there.

Nice to meet you!

It was my 'family-in-laws'. Myself and my wife (pillion) on yzf750r, my sister-in-law (pillion) and her hubby on a yamaha trx 850, and my father in law and mother in law (pillion) on a yamaha fj1100. The trx and fj are my father-in-laws bike - my sister-in-laws hubby usually rides a yamaha rz250rr but it doesn't hold up well two up.

We didn't go much further - only to the shops on Stephenson's Road, Mount Waverley - so perhaps only another 2 or 3 km's.

Hope your ride was nice! Did you join the netriders for the arthurs seat run? I think there was a group going on Sunday.

Last thing i said to you but we couldn't hear each other was 'I used to have one of those...'

By the way - very nice bike! Looks darn nice. I saw the headlights behind me and thought it was an fzr. It sounded nice too - I miss that buzzing sound.

lol...yeah...
i actually left the netriders cruise early to do a few runs up n down arthurs seat...since the group spent more time standing round n wating n chatting than actual riding, but all was fun.
thr turnout was 30ish which was quite good.

yeah...sorry i couldnt hear wat u said last...was goin deaf from al that freeway riding bak..

anyway...hope to catch up sometime!

Doesn't it **** ya? That's the worst ride I've been on as far as that was concerned.

And the guy that led at first was a leyland brother and a total noomptie...

Turns out a lot of people felt like you did, and once one said they were going up and down etc. about 10 of us did a few runs. It's a bit short, but fun nonetheless.

Who was the other FZR rider there? The guy on the black 3LN. It was like looking into a time warp...

do realise that the arthurs seat ride was advertised as a 'cruise' or 'slow and steady' ride, and not a full-on ride - it was intended to get some new riders out and get more comfortable on their bikes.

The MRAA organises some good rides that go at a fair clip. Usually 1.5-2 hours riding broken up with 30 minute rest breaks (and a 1 to 1.5 hour lunch). Many of the netrider rides I have been on have been similar.

yeah we know it was a relaxing ride....but its was the way it was organinsed...or not....
i did enjoy meeting every1 n the turnout n general cruise..
but i thought it could have been orgainise betta...like pre ride annoucement as wat was happening etc...the group got split into 3 n no1 knew where the meet point was etc....
the second part was ok...with the group being split into 2....slow n fast but coulda chosen a betta place to have lunch....

Roderz - were u at the original lunch meeting place where there was the chick with the dog aipped in her jacket ion the ducati monster?

oh well...just hope the nex netrider cruise/ride is betta orgainise seeing that its almost summer n the turnout will prolly b similar if not more...

Actually it was more, because a few individual riders got separated...

Yeah. How funny was that? Cool though. That's one way of having a constant riding companion...
