    Hi Guys!

I bought my 1989 FZR250 a couple of months ago and am having a major prob with it. When i am going around corners and roundabouts (irrespective of which gear i am in) the bike will some times lose acceleration and i can be yanking back on the throttle for a couple of seconds and nothing will happen and then the bike will decide to take off again a few seconds later.
Note this is only intermitent. It does not happen all the time but it does happen enough for me to be cautious as i have nearly been hit at roundabouts a couple of times as you think you have enough time to dart in but the bike loses acceleration and you end up slowing right down for a couple of seconds.
This problem has also happened at higher speeds as well, such as 80 and 100km/h. Same again, you yank back the throttle and nothing happens for a couple of seconds making the bike decellerate and me look like an ass.

Could someone please help me with this problem caus i've taken the bike to my mechanic and he took it for a test ride (wasn't a very long one) and it didnt happen and he thought i was a nutter. Told him that it was intermitent and he still thought i was a nut... ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated guys.

Start with the least expensive things first. Change out the fuel and fuel filter.

i had the same thing, like was mentioned before. take off the tank and change the fuel/fuel filter. You might want to them look at cleaning out the tank and there mioght be little chunks or impurities that are causing blocks. That was the prob with mine. runs fine now

I would try getting a fuel/carb cleaning product from a motorbike shop.
I know motul makes one. Just use half of the can per tank because the fzr has a small tank.
