    Hi People,

    Tried using search in the forum but it looks like its down or something??? So I was hoping you can help me with this question.

    When I purchased my bike it was advertised as FZR250RR. Is there such a thing as FZR 250 RR? And how would you tell?

    Reading the posts on your site, I think mine is a 3LN. On the side it has Delta Box combination and ExUp written. Don’t know what that means.

    Thanks for your help and I think this site is very informative on the FZR 250's.

    Hey there. Yes there is such thing as an fzr 250rr, it has been mentioned previously in the forum that the main reason for the extra 'r's was to compete with hondas cbr rr crap. There isn't much of a difference between the standard fzr and the rr, the main one being a higher rev range on the 'rr'. If it has deltabox and exup stickers..as long as its not fake decals, it will be a 3ln. 3LN should be written on the compliance where the headstem is. (metal plate).

    main diffs would also be having a single headlight and twin disc brakes on the 3LN too.Not that twin discs stop any better, they are just smaller than a big single

    Hey,

    Thanks for the replies, on my compliance; the metal piece, it just says FZR, but on the frame it says 3LN and on the exhaust it says 3LN as well, and its got single light and dual front brakes.

    On a different topic, should the temperature reading vary between C and H?, like when I ride the bike and its cool weather then its towards the C end, if I let it idle after riding for a while, it goes towards H. I made sure that the fan is working by waiting for it to kick in. I just thought id ask cause on cars the temp just stays the same , unless having problems.

    The only difference I have been told ebtween the fzr'rr and fzr is that the rr redlines at over 20 000. If your's does this then you can likely truly say it is an rr. If not it is likely just repainted as one (I have seen a 2kr model rebadged as an rr, at sumoto...).

    As for the heat - that is quite common. Without the airflow through the engine it can be expected that the guage will raise up to the H. I find this used to happen when I rode in peak hour traffic (start/stop). But once the fan kicked in there was no problem. If you are cruising along it should get cooler. One point - do not ride your bike hard when the temp is very low (i.e. at the very bottom of the guage) - make sure the indicator is somewhere in the white. Bikes don't like riding when too cold and this can damage the engine (because oil is too cold/thick and does not properly lubricate)

    I should also note that not all bikes fluctuate in temperature as much as the fzr. Some seem to keep to a constant temperature better than others, regardless of conditions.

    I just had a chance to look at it, revs to 18,500 rpm then redlines past 20,000 rpm, out of curiosity what does normal FZR redline to?

    Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

    normal redline between 18-18500 on most (I think). So yours is likely a 'normal' fzr as you say (though I think they are all special...). The 'rr' from what I have been told redlines at 21 000, then goes up beyond that.

    Not ripped off. The 3ln is an excellent bang for buck combination! The difference in performance between the one you have and the ones that rev 21 000+ is negligable to be honest (the rider would be a bigger factor in this).

    Thanks guys,

    If any of you are interested, I called the guy up and he said he never came across a bike that reved to 21000, he said another noticable difference with the RR, is the oil filter is at the bottom of the bike. I told him id take it to a yamaha store since he wouldnt take my word for it.

    all fzr 250's have the filter at the bottom of the bike...

    There is one other bike I ahve been told about that redline at 21 000 which is the cbr 250 rrr (not a typo). I was told about this bike both at netrider and on the across forums independently, so I assume it exists. It was bred pretty much only for the racetrack I was told.

    hey guys,

    bloody hell i just realised that my Fizzer is a fake RR aswell! <!-- s:mad: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_mad.gif" alt=":mad:" title="Mad" /><!-- s:mad: -->

    although, i did say in another post that i have ridden a Fizzer that the redline started at 16 500rpm.

    My redline starts at 18 500rpm.

    And you guys reckon Fizzers exist that rev to 21 000 rpm??? <!-- s:o --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_surprised.gif" alt=":o" title="Surprised" /><!-- s:o --> <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

    The only bike (250) (stock) that i ever heard of revving that hard is the ZX2R.

    ahh, who knows, i know my bikes fast (its red too!) <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
