One of the panels on the 3LN3 I ride has a piece missing, snapped off while the other side panel is scratched up. I wanted to replace these two and found a place where I got two of them offered for $300 AUS. They are in perfect condition, like brand new even with intact rubber sprockets.

Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal and does anyone know of a cheap bike painter who could spray them, or the whole bike for me?

    Deal

    G'day mate,

As Ive havnt been on the forum for along time, Ill say Hi and welcome to Dean and my website/ forum.

From the info you have given us I think this is a good deal. As I live in NZ I dont know to much about the value of FZR parts so I can say for sure but if you were in NZ and paid that for them and they were in awesome cond you would be very happy. As you may have read I had problems with my fairings, one was smashed into 4 peices and I repaired it myself, although doing the job, I learnt many things I didnt enjoy it. Lol. So if you can buy them and they arnt really expensive then buy them mate.

It does seem a good deal. I have previously seen a set of fairings that were selling for $600. No clue about painters - where are you anyways? If in Sydney Dean may have an idea as he had his painted recently.

Yeah Dean, how much did you pay for a respray? I've been quoted $650 for the repair and respray of my side-fairings only.

Does that sound reasonable? Anyone have a theory on this?

That's withouth getting the top fairing done - that can wait til later.

I would buy the newer minter fairings as if you some how induce damage to your repaired fairings they are more likly to crack again. I think when you get pro spray painters to do your job they charge alot as they are doing the best job they can so you are paying for a top quality job. Maybe thats why they are so expensive to get done??
