Hi Everyone, Has anyone got a base map for a PCIV4? I am having some trouble setting up a base to get the engine running.
Hi there, No experience with the ignitech, however your question intrigued me as I didn't know for certain the base ignition advance and the max ignition advance See screenshots - I've take screen shots from the 3 service manuals & supplements that we have to hand Interesting differences between them hope this helps First 2KR - 10 degrees @ 1600RPM -> 53 degrees @6500RPM 3LN1 - 10 degrees @1600RPM -> 44 degrees @ 16000 RPM 3LN3 - 15 degrees @ 1600RPM -> 46 degrees @ 6000RPM
FWIW - I believe they use a signal generator to simulate the VR pickup to stimulate the TCI at various RPM throughout the range. Then you'd have an oscilloscope measuring the decreasing spark delay from the TCI as it approaches peak advance Chart it on a piece of graph paper or in an excel spreadsheet and voila you have your spark map
