hey guys, this came up and i grabbed it, FZR250, not at my place yet, pretty excited, stay tuned.
styled mild. I like it.
i tracked down a set of stickers, he will include the "250" part, and in any colours i want, picture below. keep it simple. Better work out exactly which model it is so the stickers are true to the vintage.
Looks to be an 89 3LN1
got it home.....
I like it!
Tank was bone dry, rust dust present. Cleaned that sufficient to try and start it up. Fuel tap leaks all over the place, needs sorting, but it runs, and sounds good! Bit rattlely, research and reading here says maybe clutch. My mate has FZR250 and said it could be Ex-Up valve. I got some reading to do here.
Already has new tyres, barley worn pads n discs, lots of new hoses.
quick video of startup and running
An FZR that starts first go? ..... gimme a break
Pull the fuel tap apart and check the seals etc
Scroll down for info here also
small bite out of 4 hole seal, b side looks fine, holes a little outa shape. Seal on tank looks a bit flat too. Gunna order all. You guys had good experiences with the ones from Litetek Thailand yeah
Litetek are the only ones I use in any of my resto's.
The owner of Litetek @maelstrom , is a senior member here so some of us have had a long association with his products and everything is well researched , designed and manufactured to a very high standard
He's an Aussie and an ok bloke too
done, parts ordered.
