The middle cylinder are not running, anyone know the colour code of the low tension wires that supply that coil. I know I would be able to see it but would like to know before I startnstripping the bike down. Thanks.

Thanks. The coils and leads are brand new (TD850, I think as it has the same part no's). So I must have a problem with the wiring. I will follow the white wire.

Found the white wire, unplugged the connector, plugged it back in. Problem solved. 18k with a straight through system sounds great in my garage

Now at the strip. Running ten second eighths but only on three cylinders. Looks like one of my brand new coils is buggered.

If one of your coils was buggered, you would be running on two cylinders.

Not plugs or carbs. If I switch the plug leads from that coil then the dead cylinder switches. The dead cylinder relates to one specific lead. I have tried a new plug cap but that doesn't work. I have removed the plug cap and I only get a very small weak spark when shorting it to earth. I will try swapping the coils over to see if it relates to the input signal, but I really can't be arsed at the moment.

Went to remove the offending coil and noticed the live feed wire had frayed on the mounting bolt, so I hope that the short was reducing the input enough that the HT pulse opted for the lead with least resistance. Repaired it and now waiting for battery to charge before testing.
