    Hi there,

Wondering if anyone has tips on an air filter that could be used as a replacement for the FZX250 Zeal?
Looks like it is impossible to find any genuine, and have no clue on after market.

All I've seen so far was someone's suggestion of making one from the larger Hiflo HFA4603 or HFA4403 filter. If anyone has done something similar, any chance of getting some advice on doing this?

    Thanks

Thank you so much @GreyImport and @Andych! That's such a massive help!

Question: on one of the pages it said the 3TJ-14451-00 fits an FZR400 as well. Would that mean others that fit the FZR400 would also fit the FZX250? Sorry, very new to all of this.

Always wondered if it would be better to skip the whole air box [IMG]
And replace them with carburetor fitted air filters [IMG]

Air box resonance is a good thing.

If you wish your bike to loose power and never run right again- then go right ahead but don't say your were never warned.

Yep... NEVER but if you want to try and prove us wrong... go for it...
A word of caution though.... .you appear to have trouble getting 4 spark plugs that are the same so I personally would put fine tuning and re-jetting 4 intricate carbys into the too hard basket and just concentrate on getting the bike to run in standard trim.
    Just my 2 cents worth..

When I cleaned them I just screwed the main jet and starter jet well screw tight and the pilot jet 2 and a half turns and the fuel mixture jet well 3 turns last attempt it made a clean whoosh sound every crank with the air box and tank on and the leaky petcock

start, pilot, and main jet gets screwed all the way in every time. air/fuel mixture and idle screw is what gets the adjustment to fix idle issues, outside of that you will change values of start/pilot/main jet, needle position/shape. Without mods stock jet sizes/baseline settings should get you a decent idle, assuming the rest of the bike isn't as clapped out.

The throttle is very sticky too many people touching the bike when it’s dirty now it sticks in full throttle position if I twist it i might spray the rest of the last bottle of wd40 over it

Ok weird but the air box manifolds don’t fit to the carbs I tried pushing and yanking even removing the rings completely I might run it with out the air box to get it started tho while the bike is in the make shift stand when I yanked the throttle last attempt with the woosh sound from the carbs the battery gave out I hope there isn’t any leftover gasoline that needs draining I might just unscrew the switch on the stand

@Cj Ryder Please use punctuation, you're giving us a headache and this isn't Twitter.

Ok, I’ll definitely start practicing punctuation. I’ve reread my posts, and I seem to see why you guys get confused, when I’m trying to explain a certain problem and run on to the next. Thanks for that
