Picked myself up a bike to do up over the winter, not sure if I will sell it or keep it. Needs a few parts, new tyres, either repair or replace fairings. First up I'll pull off the fuel tank and carbies and clean them right up.

    Let the fun begin IMG_9976.JPG

So ordered some tyres tonight. Should have them next week. I noticed where the LHS fairing is attached the mount is missing, the one on the RHS is a small bracket that attaches to the clutch casing. Does anyone have one they would like to part with for the LHS please? Or a picture of what one looks like so I can make one?

    Cheers Craig

Removed the tank, seems very clean. Removed all the fairings and straightened the front fairing frame. Put the battery on charge and after about 15 minutes of charge the fuel pump operates when ignition is turned on but need further charge to see if it cranks. IMG_9977.JPG IMG_9978.JPG

New battery, fresh filters and fuel and she lives. Removed the exhaust for painting. Still tossing up whether to repair or replace the fairings.

Exhaust is back on and bike is running again, found the brake bleed screw on the front brake was totally round when I went to bleed the brakes today, also not happy with the front master cylinder I think I'll replace the seals, oh and get a new bleed screw. IMG_9987.JPG IMG_9986.JPG

Ordered brake master cylinder kit, new indicators and tried out the fairings to see how they would look. Took the bike for a ride around the car park with no issues apart from a lack of front brakes. All electricals working and battery charging. Picture it with the fairings just sitting on. Removed the tyres from the rims ready for when the new ones turn up, not going to do anything else with the engine as its running fine, sorted out a few missing minor bits. Rims seem to be in excellent condition all going well it will be finished by next week. IMG_9993.JPG IMG_9994.JPG

Looks great with new fairings. What other differences besides double brakes on front between mc19 and mc22? Everything else looks very similar to me.

Very similar, MC22 rev a tiny bit higher, have a stand warning light and also a different rear end suspension set up. But looking at my MC22 that's all I can tell visually. I post a pic up with both my MC22 and MC19 when its finished.

    OK, I gotta ask.

Is that MC22 bodywork or MC19 with an MC22 color scheme?

Angle at bottom of front fairing shows it's MC22 part.
I've noticed lots of on-line sellers are using MC22 colour scheme on MC19 bikes.

It is MC19 Bodywork with an MC22 colour scheme, I was originally going to repair and repaint the original fairings but they were in pretty poor condition. A guy listed this 12K kit which he had purchased for one of his projects for $500 so I snapped it up. It looks fantastic to be honest, but because its not original I will probably sell the bike.

The Kit would not fit my MC22, its a MC19 kit with MC22 Colours

Looks good to me. I like MC19's for the simple chassis and single front disc.
