Just wondering how to tell the difference between the 45hp model and the 40hp engine of the bandit 250?
    Are both engines interchangeable

Its not the hp im worried about. I found someone selling 2 complete engines and a box full of stripped bandit parts for $300 and i want to make sure the engines will fit mine.
The engine code on the crankcase is
j706 and my bike is j705.
    Anyone know the codes?

Google standard Suzuki codes they're all deciphered the same way regardless of bike. It's the gj72a vs gj73a vs gj74a vs gj77a you need to know as they're the different engine variants. The rest are down to parts comparisons from the fiches.
