Hey Guys, I know theres a number of members who reside in Sydney and i just wanted to know where you guys take your bikes to get repairs/serviced. That is ofcourse if you dont do these things yourselves.

Any info would be appreciated!

Lloyd Penn Motorcycles in Artarmon 34 Punch St, went to buy tyres off him the other month and they seem a good bunch of chaps. I rode in there at 5:00 on a Friday arvo and asked him to change my tyre... anyway after a few laughs and sweet talk he agreed.

I noticed a lot of grey imports in there ( mainly CBR 250 ) so he obviously doesn't mind working on greys which is more than I can say for some mechanics.

Hope this helps!

Yeah well you're the second bloke to recommend Lloyd Penn so i've given them a call today. Hopefully they can help my bike get up and running again

Bad luck Touki! I'll let you know what happens with Lloyd Penn. Hopefully they get the job done.

Can you post your experience with your mechanic so the word spreads around please?

Cheers,
Shero

My Experience at Lloyd Penn

To be honest I was quite impressed with the service I got. The workshop is extremely clean and well organised (which is the reverse of my old mechanic).
The head mechanic spent good time with me asking questions about the history of the bike and the detailed problems i'd been having (instead of just asking for the keys and doing all the guess work himself which i've experienced from other mechanics in the past).
And was quite detailed with the results of working on my bike.

The sad news is That my bike is suffering for low compression on the fourth cylinder (which I've known for quite some time). He says that I would have to pay somewhere around $500 to get all the work down to get the tired all motor running like it should. Sadly i'm not really in the position to be spending that kind of money and i certainly don't have the time or knowledge to do it myself so i think i'll be selling the bike off to someone that is up to the job. I'll be advertising the bike up in the appropriate section shortly and probably on eBay.

Merry Christmas Everyone! All the best for the New Year!!

Shero.

PS- MrR2 I don't think the guy was being rude, he's got quite a full load in the shop at the moment and is trying to wind things down for the end of the year before they all go on holidays for a week or two. Which is pretty understandable.
