    Hi.
I have been following the forum for a couple of weeks now and thought I'd say hi. Seems like a nice bunch of people on here.
Long story short, I'm in my 40's and have just got my learners and a bike (MC19). Spent most of my teens and 20's playing with cars, everything from 6's to turbo 4's to Carby and injected 8's. So while I have plenty of know how with 4 wheels, 2 wheelers are new to me.
Living in South West Australia, options for second hand bikes are limited and so ended up buying one from the east and shipping it over. CBR250R's are almost non-existent here. Got it here and the bugger wouldn't run. Started and ran on choke only so first job was carby's. Bought a Carby kit with all new jets, needles etc and gave it a thorough clean. Followed a great carby rebuild thread i found on Perth Street Bikes. She now starts first go without any choke required! Very happy! Buying a bike without being able to inspect first hand is always a bit scary but it seems to have worked out ok. Everything seems pretty standard except the obvious fairing redo and the chromed extractors and Beet muffler. No oil or coolant leaks visible. Only damage I have found is the headlight bracket which is slightly bent putting the headlights slightly off centre from the nose fairing.
The bike rides great and I will be going through it with a fine tooth comb as time and finances permit.
First up will be the fork oil as it feels a bit soft up front.

Welcome mate. Good bike you have there. Loving the sound of those geared cams? No such thing as a stupid question mate. So anything you want to know ask away. The lads here will try their best to answer it for you. Good to see another tim out there too. Lol

    Cheers
    Tim.
