I now work as an (mature aged) apprentice electrician with a very good friend of mine who's my boss.
I love working on projects and sometimes get carried away. As well as my bike on the go i have a 87 Hilux 4x4 that i'm taking on a 4 week Cape York trip  home via Frazer island for 1 week this year so plenty of work and money to go towards that but i want my bike on the road first.

The hilux is getting and engine transplant from the 2L (2.4l) diesel that i turbo charged and i'm rebuilding a 3L (2.8l) diesel that i'll be swapping all my turbo gear over to. Its getting a lot of suspension work done, High steer (finally have power steering with this to boot), inboard rear shocks, RUF (ifs rear springs on the front of my solid axle) Rear diff swapped for the ifs rear diff (wider and larger brakes), solid axel front widening kit (to match the rear diff) auxillary fuel tank and a full respray. A lot of these parts I have already just waiting for the bike so i still have transport even though i have another car but i'm trying to sell it.

It is a series 5 RX7. It has been my pride and joy for the past 4-5 years and will be a sad day when it leaves. It now runs a extend port with a garrett t04z. Jic coilovers, full infini interior you name it. All mods except the engine rebuild were done by myself and friends. I would hate to see the total cost to where it sits today but if i was worried about that i would have never done it in the first place. The car has to go to help me deck the hilux out with lockers, a winch and the engine rebuild on the hilux for the cape trip later in the year. Plus the car is now more at home on the track. It's a little to ridiculous to be driving on the street considering it was once a stock car i drove everyday & that i was the first owner in Australia when it was imported now it lives in the shed  :(

I have cleared the engine bay more since this day and added some carbon parts and i have polished more.
I could literally go on for many pages talking about the mods that have been done to both vehicles as both were bought stock as a rock. Luckily i have a very understanding wife

    Cheers
    Dean

Also here is a couple of videos of the 7 if anybody is interested.

This was at Queensland Raceway, Willowbank. This had the current setup of turbo and intercooler.
This was my first time out there and i have since been back and ran 62.2 around the sprint track.
