OK, it's official now & I can tell you all. My court case was yesterday ( I was fined in Oct last Yr for having a camera mounted on the top of my helmet; I wrote away to try & get off, with no luck & then took the court option ).
Roger Firth from LHD Legal in Port Macquarie represented me "Pro bono" & I had the motorcycle council of Aust backing me as well as heaps of help from Clinton Hayes. Thanks to you all for your efforts.
After the recent article in the Coffs Coast A...dvocate went viral online & in bike mags in Europe & the USA; I received a call from the Police Prosecutions a few week later ( about a month ago now) telling me that they were dropping the charges. I didn't need to attend court !!!! My solicitor still showed up, the prosecution admitted no evidence & the charges were completely dropped. I WIN !!!!!
What a total waste of the solicitors & the courts time & money. We will be following this up with some more newspaper articles & maybe on TV too. So if you have been booked for this & have not paid your fine, then fight it because it is NOT ILLEGAL & they will drop the charges.

We regularly have a speed camera parked out the front of our house, and I spoke to the traffic cop about this last week.

Helmet cams are legal in Queensland, as long as the fixing doesn't reduce the integrity of the helmet. That is no screws etc. Helmet straps and the 3m stick on patches are legal.
