help please!!!!!!

    hi thought i would write in to see if any one can help? i have a 88 fzr250 dont know to much mechanical but bike revs ok when not under load but when under load wont go past8-9k but if you pull choke all the way on off she goes still a bit flat but will go to18k?had 1 place tell me fuel pump?they say put on fzr600 fuel pump will solve?i tend to think needs carbs and maybe valve clearence?doesnt seem to idle too so any help or advice on where to take to get fixed would be great

    sound like you need a carb job. Get the carbs cleaned and balance and test it again.

    I had a similar problem with one of my bike and to my suprise an objet was in the carb por prventing the air fuel mixture to flow properly.

    Agreed, sounds like a carby prob.

    If you do have a fuel pump prob and have to replace it, i got an aftermarket electric one for $120
    Lot cheaper than trying to find a genuine one

    FZR FUELING

    I run a 2kr model,year 1989,check spark plugs for colour and clean up or replace, also clean out or replace air filter,also its best to use a high octane rating fuel,if no better then its a carb set up job.

    ok finaly found someone who knows there **** on these fzr250 took it to him and he said not fuel but should comp test and check valve stem clearence's turns out no2piston on half comp so he pulls down needs 2 new inlet valves so as i write this it is a day away from being back home <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> so will let you all know as soon as she is back

    I had pretty much the same prob. Different symptoms but same solution.
