    Gday 2fifty peeps :)

Was referred to this site and looks like a nice place for all the 250 owners, thanks for havin me :)

Newbie rider here with a good old Suzuki GSX250 '93 which I just scored yesterday. She's got her issues but loaded with character and it seems additude as she's givin me issues already :D

So hopefully I'll be able to find some good info for my weekend warrior repair attempts first of which will be how to get the seat to release as seems like the magnetic lock doesn't want to budge. Luckily the man bag compartment releases and sometimes the fuel tank but all part of the fun. :)

Newho thanks for havin me peeps, look forward to checkin out some of the site.

Bikes are pretty easy especially with the basics ...... the biggest hassle is the carbs and getting them right after so many POs (previous owners) have messed with them ...... u will see countless threads and posts on carbys ...especially when u have 4 of the bastards.

Once u start doing stuff u will find it not so daunting .....and theres a whole forum full of expertise here to help

You want to look at all the things that can be neglected in the past before riding it in anger
    Tyres : http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/tyre-information.1115/
    Brake fluid , pads
    Chain slack and lube
Fuel filter (if it has one)
    Air filter
    Oil change/level
    Coolant level/flush
    Battery condition : http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/how-do-i-test-my-12-volt-battery-and-charging-system.1794/

If your putting together a bit of a tool kit then get a cheapo multimeter and seriously look at a set of these
    http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/koken-jis-crosshead-phillips-screwdrivers.1469/ .... worth every cent.

Plenty of Across resources here (cost ya a whole $5 )

There is no magnetic seat release, you get the seat off using your key, the release button is for your fuel filler , where in Brisbane are you ? I'm at Wellington point

Make sure you turn the key 1 click to the left from the reds position. Also the seat lock is on left hand side of bike.
