hi my name is Juan, SE suburbs, been on here a little bit so i thought would be best to just join
picked up a zxr250c off gumtree in October. wasnt up for long as it was very cheap ...but

the bike had been parked up for 12years with no attention. it had a full rwc done and service before being parked up, but they left the tank on with petrol in it,
by what i was told the tank was a write off the carbs needed to be replaced and the engine and cooling system had to be replaced, this was from the owners mechanic.
i got the bike home and had it running rough about an hour into getting it home.
repaired and sealed the tank( could do with one more seal and paint repair)
pulled the carbies out striped and cleaned
major flush of engine and cooling system
    and shes up and running

was looking at taking it to philip island for a track day but didnt have enought time to finish so i to my old cbr1000f

looking like this may become a club permit/track bike, as my partner was just given a cbr250r i have to rebuild and a mate has a nsr250 hes keen to play with.

bit of back ground love my hondas have more bikes that i like to admit to so are long term projects some and just stuff i will get to when i have down time

these are pics i took when i got the bike $_20.JPG $_201.JPG $_203.JPG

chasing some parts for it or any one that knows there zxrs in melbourne SE sub

can put up pics of the other bikes if you guys want

great score endlss, just be warned that tyre choice is limited on the ZXR due to 18" rear rim.

Looking forward to hear how you get on with it

:welcome: Bike looks very tidy for it's age. The comments from the so-called mechanic are standard practise from someone who obviously didn't want the job
By the sound of it you're well on your way to getting this little gem back on the road....well done :thumb_ups:

cheers kiffta yeah i know 18s got them on the cb400, bit of a pain but its worth every penny.

i could see where the mech was coming from he could put a few hours doing what i did and if anything happens to the engine hes out of pocket for a rebuild. easy option bolt in new bits in.

murdo this is all i have on the laptop
